Petzl NAO RL

Updated for Autumn 2022, the Petzl Nao RL is brighter than it's previous models with a battery that lasts even longer. Possibly the best and brightest running lamp out there, the Nao RL is also tried and tested in many scenarios where you might find yourself needing light in dark places. The rechargeable headlamp gives a minimum of 5 hours of light up to a whopping 1500 lumens using intelligent REACTIVE LIGHTING® technology, so that the brightness automatically adapts to the ambient light to save battery and to gives a homogenous light for picking out features when moving from close up to distance vision. Two beam types large and mixed, and three lighting modes for proximity, movement and distance are automated to maximise burn time as much as possible, and red lighting at the rear can be set to continuous or strobe function to allow you to be visible and saves your fellow runners vision when following you. The lock function prevents unplanned battery drainage when in transit, or lock in your preferred setting. As you would expect for a light aimed at long distance trails the headband is reflective and ergonomic, and at just 145g the lamp is light, comfortable and well balanced. With the battery pack in the rear and the optional overhead band you get extra stability, so the light doesn't slip or jiggle when going over rough terrain.

The Lithium-Ion 3200 mAh battery is rechargeable via USB-C and has a handy built-in battery level indicator light. The R1 battery can also be used as a spare battery to charge other devices, such as phones or watches. The lamp is rated as IPX4 weather-resistant, and it all comes in a handy storage pouch for your lamp and a spare battery.
