The Tarantula has a stiff midsole that supports your feet, which is perfect for multipitches or beginners who haven't developed the required foot muscles for downturned or soft shoes. This is combined with the Tarantula's FriXion® Black 4mm rubber which is sticky enough to smear and hard enough for small edges on slabs/vert.
The upper is made of suede calfskin with a tubular construction, and sports velcro straps to help tighten up the closure, which lets you get the perfect fit while climbing.
