Blue Ice Blackbird

The Blue Ice Blackbird is your partner for general mountaineering and glacier travel, at just 314g it is very light and versatile for a classic, all-purpose, straight piolet.

Built to the same specs as the Bluebird, the Blackbird makes an excellent introductory ice tool for anyone taking their first steps in the high mountains. Designed, assembled and tested in Chamonix-Mont-Blanc you know you can trust this tool to see you through anything the alpine world can throw your way for years to come. The highest quality materials are used throughout from the Chromoly steel head, both light and rigid, for effective anchoring, aircraft grade anodized and sandblasted aluminium curved shaft with dual textured grip, for secure handling, and a grip rest can be added for extra functionality.The stainless steel adze is wide for effective clearing of snow and chopping steps and a stainless steel spike for walking, belay or self-rescue.

The Blackbird comes in three lengths, 49cm, 54cm, and 60cm, with protectors for the head and the spike included.
