Grivel Ascender Descender A&D

The Ascender Descender (A&D) by Grivel is an innovation of design and function where the ascender also doubles as a descender. Adding convenience to big walls, alpine climbs, and also to cleaning and projecting routes, the design allows for a quick and safe transition from ascending to descending. So you can quickly bail down the line negating the need to change device if conditions require. By simply pushing a single bite of rope through the hole in the forged plate opposite the handle and clipping a carabiner through it and back to your harness it can be used like a belay plate for rappelling. When used for ascending a rope the A&D gives superb handling with an ergonomic rubber grip handle, and the solid performance you would expect from Grivel. Features include a carabiner hole positioned to keep the device safely on the rope when at an angle and a large lever on the toothed ascender which is easy to use with gloves and that can be clipped through with a carabiner to give extra leverage for unjamming when up against an obstruction.
