The new A&D from grivel is an ascender and descender in one. The slot in the handle is the descender and all you need to do it pass the rope through it like you would a standard belay device and unlock the descender. If you need a handled ascender for aid climbing or ascending fixed ropes then this is well worth a look! It comes in left and right handed versions.
